We had our first Pop-up restaurant come through the Jaxson this week!
Opal-Basil on the Trace came down from the North shore to entertain with their wine paired blind tasting. 5 food courses all paired with different wines from Glazer’s.
Lindsay and Robert Vasquez from Opal Basil chose three different blind tasting menus. Some of the items they served were duck enchiladas, seared tuna, lamb, beef, scallops and it just kept coming. Wonderful preparations all. Robert is a terrific chef with a Southwestern meets local Louisiana slant to his dishes.
This past Wednesday was the first of what we hope are many more nights enjoying The Jaxson space, Opal Basil’s food and Glazers wines. Plans are in the works to make this a monthly event on mid-month Wednesday’s.
